About Mike Reilly
Mike Reilly has been an umpire in Major League Baseball since 1977. Prior to getting his start as a big league umpire he attended K.C.C. Junior College and earned his associates degree. Reilly became interested in becoming an umpire after taking an officiating class in college. Since getting his start in the big leagues in 1977 he has umpired in four World Series games in 1984, 1992, 2002 and 2007, and three AllStar games in 1982, 1993 and 2000. He has also umpired in nine league championship series, six division series, and in the 1976 Caribbean World Series. Known as a pitcher’s umpire, Reilly has established a consistent zone and maintained it for over 35 years. With his experience as an umpire he has served as a crew chief since 2009. In addition to his career as an umpire he also serves on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters and works with the Food Bank of South Central Michigan.
