About Norris Cole
Norris Cole is a point guard for the Miami Heat of the NBA. Cole began playing basketball at home on his Fischer-Price plastic basketball hoop and by studying video of Michael Jordan. At three years old, Cole joined the neighborhood YMCA league and then local AAU teams. Cole was set to attend Walsh University on a football scholarship until coach Gary Walters decided to recruit him for basketball at Cleveland State. The Chicago Bulls selected Cole as the 28th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. When Draft night was over, Cole was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves and ultimately dealt him to the Miami Heat. Cole was originally left out of the 2012 Rising Stars Challenge, but due to Jeremy Lin’s rising stardom, Cole was selected as the 20th rookie to even out the competition. Cole won his first championship in his rookie season when the Miami Heat defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012 NBA Finals. The following year, Cole and the Heat made it to the NBA Finals again and defeated the San Antonio Spurs. The Heat and Spurs faced each other again in the 2014 NBA Finals, but Miami lost the series.
