About Olden Polynice
Olden Polynice is a former professional basketball center for the National Basketball Association. Polynice attended the University of Virginia where be played basketball for three years. The Chicago Bulls selected Polynice as the eighth overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft, but he was immediately traded to the Seattle SuperSonics. Polynice played with the SuperSonics from 1987-1991 before he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1991. The Clippers traded Polynice in 1992 to the Detroit Pistons where he remained for two years. The Pistons traded Polynice in 1994 to the Sacramento Kings for Pete Chilcutt and two draft picks. He then returned to the SuperSonics for the 1999 seasons and spent 1999-2001 with the Utah Jazz. He spent 15 seasons in the NBA and was often signed by teams in need of a rebounder. Polynice retired from basketball in 2004. After retiring, he served as a coach for the ABA’s Long Beach Breakers. He currently runs a basketball training camp called NextStar Basketball.
