About Olivia Reeves
Olivia Reeves is an Olympic gold medal-winning weightlifting prodigy who made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning gold in the women's 71kg category. This was the first U.S. weightlifting Olympic gold since 2000, making her the first U.S. lifter to hold both the world and gold medal titles in the same year.
Hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Reeves began lifting at 12 under legendary coach Steve Fauer, showing early promise with a bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships. She attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, her hometown university. Reeves' Olympic triumph revitalized U.S. weightlifting, inspiring young athletes, particularly women, in a male-dominated sport. She's targeting the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, aiming to elevate the sport's profile in the U.S. while pursuing a sociology degree.
