About Pat Borders
Pat Borders played for ten teams over his 18-year major league career, but he is best known as the heart and soul behind some of the best teams in Toronto Blue Jays history. Borders made his major league with the Blue Jays in 1988 and quickly positioned himself as the team's everyday catcher. He helped Toronto win back-to-back World Series crowns in 1992 and 1993. That first year, he hit .450 and won World Series MVP honors. After seven seasons with the Blue Jays, Borders played for another decade. He had another career-high in 2000, when he helped Team USA win an Olympic gold medal. In recent years, Borders has spent time as a manager at the minor league level.
