About Pat Swilling
Pat Swilling is a former NFL linebacker, playing for three teams over his 13 year career. Prior to entering the NFL, Swilling was a record breaking linebacker at Georgia Tech University. During his time at Georgia Tech, Swilling was an All-American, setting records for most sacks in a single game, as well as breaking the record for most sacks in Georgia Tech history. Swilling entered the 1986 NFL Draft and was selected in the third round by the New Orleans Saints. In the early 1990’s, The Saints would have a dominant defense led by Swilling, where he won Defensive Player of the Year in 1991 after recording 17 sacks. In 1993, Swilling was traded to the Detroit Lions, where he would make his final Pro Bowl that same season. After two seasons with the Lions, Swilling signed on with the Oakland Raiders, retiring in 1998. Swilling finished his career with 107.5 sacks and six interceptions, all while making five Pro Bowl appearances.
