About Patrick Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs selected Patrick Mahomes with the tenth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. Mahomes put up huge numbers as the starting quarterback at Texas Tech for two seasons. As a junior, he won the Sammy Baugh Trophy and was named a second-team All-Big 12 selection. Mahomes threw for 5,052 yards and 41 touchdowns on the year. In a shootout that season against Oklahoma, Mahomes set NCAA records with 734 passing yards and 819 yards of total offense. Mahomes also spent time as a member of the Texas Tech baseball team. His father, Pat, was a major league pitcher from 1992-2003.
