About Patrick Sharp
Patrick Sharp is a professional NHL forward for the Chicago Blackhawks. Before he played in the NHL,Sharp played in variousamateur leagues in Canada and the United States, then played collegiately forthe University of Vermont. In the 2001 NHL Draft, Sharp was drafted in the third round by thePhiladelphia Flyers, playing there for five seasons until he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. Onceat the Blackhawks, Sharp would emerge as a great player, recording great offensive stats. His play wascrucial in the Blackhawks 2010 Stanley Cup victory, as he was named a captain of the team that sameyear. In 2011, Sharp was named the MVP of the All-Star game, and played well enough to earn a fiveyear contract extension with the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks’ loyalty to Sharp would be rewarded, ashe led the team to another Stanley Cup victory in 2013. Sharp is now a mainstay for the Blackhawks, andhas helped turn them into a playoff mainstay.
