About Patrik Elias
Patrik Elias is an NHL winger who spent his entire career with the New Jersey Devils. Drafted in 1994 by the Devils, Elias never played for another team, making him the longest tenured player in Devils history. As a rookie in 1994, Elias helped the team win the first of two Stanley Cups over his career, setting the tone for a long and successful career. His second career Stanley Cup came in 1999, as Elias and the high powered Devils offense led the team to an impressive run through the NHL Playoffs. In 2001, Elias set the Devils’ record for most goals in a season with 96, which was good for third best in the league that season. After the 2006 season, Elias tested free agency, but ultimately elected to stay with New Jersey on a new seven year contract. Elias was rewarded for his loyalty by being named the captain of the team that next season. In 2009, Elias became the Devils leading scorer, scoring his 702nd career goal in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Elias is an NHL and Devils great, and will likely be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
