Paul Krause

Paul Krause is a retired NFL safety, notorious for owning the record for most career interceptions with 81. Prior to playing in the NFL, Krause was a two-way starter at the University of Iowa, starting at Wide Receiver and defensive back. In his four years at  Krause would be named an All-American, being elected to play in many post-season all-star games. In the 1964 NFL Draft, Krause was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the second round, and led the league in interceptions that season with 12. This season would mark the first of eight Pro Bowl selections, and he would go on to intercept 28 passes in just four years with the Redskins. In 1967, the Washington Redskins traded Krause to the Minnesota Vikings, and he became one of eleven players to play in all four of the Vikings Super Bowl appearances. In 1979, Krause set the record for most interceptions in a game against the Los Angeles Rams, eventually retiring at the end of the season. Krause was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998, cementing him as one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history.
