About Paul Pierce
Paul Pierce was an NBA superstar who retired in 2017 and was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021. Pierce is widelyknown for his time with the Boston Celtics, as he was part of the Big Three of Kevin Garnett, himself, andRay Allen. Pierce played his college ball at Kansasunder legendary coach Roy Williams, winning the MVPof the Big 12 conference in 1997 and 1998. In the 1998 NBA Draft,Pierce was selected tenth overall bythe Boston Celtics, becoming a fan favorite and impacting the team immediately, makingthe NBA AllRookieteam. Pierce would go on to lead the Celtics to a rejuvenation of sorts, reaching the Playoffsmultiple times, but was unable to take them all the way to a championship without some help. That allchanged in 2007, as the Celticsacquired both Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, then went on to win theFinals that same season, with Pierce winning the FinalsMVP. Over the next few years, the Celtics wouldbe considered one of the NBA’s best, but he was traded, along with Kevin Garnett, to the Brooklyn Netsin 2013, playing one season for the team before signing a two year deal with the Washington Wizards.
