Pavel Bure Biography

Pavel Bure is a retired professional hockey player, known for time with the NHL. Bure started his professional career in 1987, playing for the Russian based Central Red Army, where he would go on to become an offensive force. In 1989, Bure was selected in the NHL Draft, but legal issues kept him playing in Russia until 1991, when he made his debut as a Vancouver Canuck. As a highly touted acquisition, Bure would go on to be a star for the Canucks, making multiple All-Star games and leading a feared Canuck offense that would reach the playoffs multiple times. In 1998, Bure was traded to the Florida Panthers, where he continued to dominate up until he was traded again, this time to the New York Rangers. After a 16 year professional career, Bure decided to retire, finishing with a plethora of awards and honors. Bure was a five time all-star, along with leading the league in goals scored on three separate occasions. In 2012, Bure’s status as an all-time great was cemented, as he was inducted into the Hockey
Hall of Fame.
