About Peter Chiarelli
Peter Chiarelliis the president of hockey operations and general manager of the Edmonton Oilers. He was named to the post in 2015 and has seen quick results. The Oilers made the playoffs in 2017 for the first time in 11 seasons. Chiarelli's first draft pick, Connor McDavid, has become a franchise cornerstone and one of the top stars in the NHL. Before being hired by the Oilers, Chiarelli was the general manager of the Boston Bruins. He served in the role from 2006-15 and won a Stanley Cup with the team in 2011. Chiarelli originally started his career in hockey as a player agent. He joined the Ottawa Senators organization in 1999 and rose to the position of assistant general manager.
