About Priest Holmes
Priest Holmes played eleven seasons in the National Football League with the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs from 1997 to 2007. Holmes grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas and played his college football at the University of Texas. While playing for the Longhorns he rushed for 1,276 career yards and 20 touchdowns, and showcased a skill set worthy of NFL attention. In 1997 he signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an amateur free agent and played three seasons in Baltimore before heading to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2001. From 2001 to 2007 he was one of the premier running backs in the league, earning NFL Offensive Player of the Year and NFL Alumni Running Back of the Year honors in 2002 to go along with three Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors from 2001 to 2003. In 2001 he led the NFL in rushing and topped the league in rushing touchdowns in both 2002 and 2003. In honor of his dedication to leadership, team and community he was honored with the Ed Block Courage Award in 2004. Holmes retired in 2007 with 8,172 career rushing yard sand 86 career touchdowns. In 2014 he was honored with induction into the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame.
