About Ralph Friedgen
Ralph Friedgen's career as a college football coach began when he became a graduate assistant for his alma mater of the University of Maryland. This was where Ralph was able to gain experience and improve his coaching style. This led to positions with other programs and an eventual position as the head coach of the Maryland team. In his career Friedgen has led his team to an ACC Championship, and won numerous awards as a coach including the Broyles Award, the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award, the ACC Coach of the Year Award twice, as well as 6 other coach of the year honors. Those awards were earned in part because of Ralphs record on the field, especially in bowl games, but also because of the way he is able to lead his team to victory, persevering through whatever it takes to get the job done, a lesson he learned while in college.
