About Rex Ryan
From a young age Rex Ryan wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father by becoming a professional football coach in the NFL. After attending college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University Rex spent the next 22 years of his life as an assistant coach on an assortment of different teams at the collegiate and NFL level. These were years of development and learning for Rex that helped prepare him for the leap to becoming a head coach. Rex was finally able to accomplish his dream in 2009 when he became the new head coach for the New York Jets where he immediately began to institute a plan to make the team better, including regularly deferring the coin toss so his team can begin on defense in order to âset the toneâ and generate turnovers. In his career Rex has also released an autobiography titled Play Like You Mean It. Rex also coached the Buffalo Bills before beginning his broadcasting career at ESPN.
