About Roger Clemens
In 1983, the Boston Red Sox drafted a hard throwing right-hander that turned into one of the most dominate pitchers in MLB history. Roger Clemens made his debut the following year, and in 1986 showed his dominance by winning the AL Cy Young, the AL MVP, and the All-Star MVP and set an MLB record for recording 20 strikeouts in a single game. Clemens then went to play for the Toronto Blue Jays for two seasons, where in both years he won a Cy Young and the MLB pitching triple crown. Beginning in 1999, Clemens was traded to the New York Yankees where he won 2 World Series in the next 5 years. Clemens then pitched for the Houston Astros where he won his 7th and final Cy Young, before playing one more season in New York. Nicknamed The Rocket, Clemens is to this day one of the greatest pitchers in MLB history, using his hard throwing pitching style to record 354 wins, a 3.14 career ERA, and the 3rd most strikeouts in MLB history with 4,672.
