About Roman Banks
Roman Banks has achieved tremendous success as the head basketball coach at Southern. The Jaguars have been to the NCAA Tournament twice under his watch. They have won two Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament titles and been champions of the regular season once. Banks has great experience in the area, having served a previous tenure as an assistant at Southern. In the eight years prior to arriving back in Baton Rouge, he kept his recruiting ties to the region strong as an assistant at Southeastern Louisiana. Banks started his career as the head coach at Green Oaks High School. He had great credibility right from the start after a standout playing career at Northwestern State. Banks left as the school's all-time leader in assists.
