Ron Wilson

Ron Wilson began his professional hockey career in 1975 when he was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leaves after a successful college career at Providence College. Wilson spent 5 seasons with the Leaves’ organization, splitting his time between the Leaves and their CHL and AHL affiliates. Over his final 8 seasons, Wilson played with the Minnesota North Stars and HS Davos of the NDA in Switzerland. In 1989, Wilson began his coaching career as a member of the Milwaukee Admirals coaching staff. After 2 seasons with the admirals and another 3 seasons as an assistant with the Vancouver Canucks, Wilson received his first head coaching position with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. He took the Ducks to their postseason in team history in 1997 and the following season he selected a role as the Washington Capitals. Wilson has went on to coach the Washington Capitals, San Jose Sharks, and most recently the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also went on to coach Team USA in the ’98 Olympics and again in 2010 where he led the US to a silver medal.
