About Ruth Buscome
Ruth Buscombe (born December 21, 1989) is a trailblazing British motorsport engineer, strategist, and broadcaster. She earned a first-class honours degree in Aerospace and Aerothermal Engineering from the University of Cambridge. She started her Formula 1 career with Ferrari in 2012 as a race strategist after being promoted from simulation development and helped world champions Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, and Kimi Räikkönen.
She joined the Haas F1 Team in November 2015 as trackside strategy engineer where she contributed to the team’s successful debut. She moved to Sauber in 2016 to lead race strategy efforts which helped the team achieve their best Constructors’ Championship finish in a decade in 2022. She spent eight years at Sauber before moving to F1 TV in 2024 to become an Analyst, Presenter, and Commentator.
Since 2016 Ruth has been an ambassador for Susie Wolff’s Dare to be Different initiative which is now known as FIA Girls on Track. She is now a popular speaker on leadership, data-driven decision-making, and performance under pressure and she is also a broadcast analyst and presenter and commentator for F1 TV, debuting in the 2024 season.
