Ryan Ludwick

Ryan Ludwick is a Major League Baseball outfielder who last represented number 48 for the Cincinnati Reds. As a diverse ambidextrous player, Ludwick throws opponents off course batting right and throwing left. Prior to his professional debut, he was born in Satellite Beach, Florida and attended high school in Las Vegas. He then played for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, known as the UNLV Rebels, for three seasons before being selected in the second round of the 1999 MLB Draft. After playing a few years in the minors, Ludwick finally made his big debut in 2002 with the Texas Rangers. He has since played for the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates and was most recently signed as a free agent for the Cincinnati Reds. Unfortunately, Ludwick tore the cartilage in his right shoulder during the 2013 season with the Reds, requiring a surgery that he is still recovering from. However, he has many accomplishments to be proud of over the course of his professional career to date, including being a recipient of the Silver Slugger Award, an All-Star selection and the Player of the Month in July of 2009. Lucwick is expected to come back stronger than ever and continue serving as a considerable contribution to Major League Baseball.
