Ryan St. Onge

Ryan St. Onge excels at free-style skiing and is an Olympic athlete in the sport. Born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1993, his family relocated to Colorado very shortly after. It did not take long for St. Onge to fall in love with the mountains of his hometown and the art of skiing. He would have to be torn away from the slopes to be reminded that it was getting dark out or to complete his homework. St. Onge trained hard as a young adult and began competing in 1997 in the men’s aerials events. He obtained one of his most notable victories in 2005 at the World Cup, followed by seven more World Cup victories in the ensuing years. In 2009, St. Onge became a gold medalist at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Inawashiro, Japan. After accomplishing this tremendous feat, he was named to the U.S. team for the 2010 Winter Olympics, where he finished fourth. St. Onge continues to competitively ski and makes it a point to admit to his fans that he is always striving to better himself in every way possible and that he enjoys being “out of his element”. He is a tremendous example of how one can push oneself to immeasurable extents in order to become both a better person and athlete.
