Sage Rosenfels

Sage Rosenfels is a former NFL quarterback who can last be remembered as a member of the Minnesota Vikings roster for the 2011-2012 season. Rosenfels grew up in Iowa throughout the 1980’s and early ‘90’s as the fourth of five children. In high school, he excelled in football, basketball, baseball, tennis and track in addition to being a member of the National Honor Society. Unsurprisingly, he was a catch for college recruits. Rosenfels became a two-year starter at Iowa State University and by his senior season, he was rated as the second-best NFL prospect among senior collegiate quarterbacks. Postgraduation, Rosenfels was selected in the 2001 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. Throughout his eleven-year professional career, he went on to play for the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants, as well. He had two stints with both the Dolphins and the Vikings and played his last professional NFL game as a Viking. Rosenfels has been inducted in the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame for all of his notable accomplishments over the years.
