About Santonio Holmes
Santonio Holmes Jr. is a former professional football player in the NFL. Holmes was born in Belle Glade, Florida in 1984 and excelled in football, basketball, and track throughout his childhood years. As a high school graduate with an impressive GPA and an outstanding talent for the sport of football, it was no surprise that he went on to become a Buckeye as he played for Ohio State University. Holmes career yards were ranked as Ohio’s fifth-highest total in school history and his 25 touchdown catches ranked him third in the NCAA. He entered the 2006 NFL Draft as a prestigious prospect and was selected in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. That same year, Holmes became the Steelers Rookie of the Year and went on to not only win Super Bowl XLIII with his fellow Steelers, but even become the Super Bowl XLIII MVP. While he had a great run with the Steelers, he was traded to the New York Jets in 2010 and again to the Chicago Bears in 2014. Holmes was known for amassing over 6,000 receiving yards throughout his professional career and is admired by many for his hard work and dedication to the sport over the years.
