Scott Drew

Scott Drew is a Kansas City, Missouri native and graduated from Butler University in 1993 with a degree in liberal arts. What makes Drew special in the basketball world is that he never played the game competitively at the high school or college varsity level. However, that did not diminish his passion for the game and at Butler he had the opportunity to serve as a student assistant from 1991 to 1993, which launched his college-coaching career. After two years at Butler he took an assistant coaching job at Valparaiso from 1993 to 2002 and worked his way up the ladder to being named the head coach at Valparaiso in 2003. During his first season at Valparaiso he led the Crusaders to a 20 win season and a 12-2 record in the Mid-Continent Conference, which earned him national recognition. The following season he was hired as the head coach at Baylor University and began rebuilding the Bears program. After four consecutive losing seasons from 2003 to 2007 he turned the program around and has since led his team to five 20-win seasons and a 30 win season in 2011-12.
