Scott Rolen

Scott Rolen played 17 seasons in the big leagues after making his debut with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1996. During that span, he accumulated seven All-Star selections, eight Gold Glove Awards at third base, a Silver Slugger Award in 2002, and the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 1997. Rolen’s best year came in 2004 when he hit a career-high .314 with 34 home runs and 124 RBI en route to leading the Cardinals to a World Series appearance. Two years later he helped the St. Louis Cardinals to a World Series victory, achieving the pinnacle of baseball excellence. Rolen went on to play for both the Toronto Blue Jays and Cincinnati Reds before hanging up his cleats in 2012 with a career .281 batting average, 316 career home runs, and 2,077 career hits. He is widely considered to be one of the best third basemen both offensively and defensively in the history of the game. Rolen is a member of the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2023. He is currently the Director of Player Development for Indiana Baseball.
