About Shaheen Holloway
Shaheen Holloway is the leader of the men's basketball program at his alma mater, Seton Hall. Holloway took the job after leading St. Peter's on one of the most impressive runs in NCAA Tournament history. The Peacocks defeated Kentucky in the 2022 first round, then beat Murray State to advance to the Sweet 16 and got to the Elite Eight with a win over Purdue before falling to North Carolina. Through his first four seasons at the helm, Holloway slowly built the team into a winner. Saint Peter's was 10-22 in his first season, turning that around to finish 21-11 and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament champions in his fourth year. In 2020, Holloway was named MAAC Coach of the Year for guiding the Pelicans to an 18-12 record. Before taking the head coaching job, he previously served as an assistant at his alma mater, Seton Hall and Iona. Holloway had a storied playing career for the Pirates. He became the school's all-time assist leader and guided the team to the Sweet Sixteen in his final season. Holloway was a three-time All-Big East pick and the Big East's Most Improved Player that senior year. He also played professionally for several years overseas.
