About Shaun Alexander
Shaun Alexander is one of the best running backs to ever step foot on a NFL field. After a stellar career at the University of Alabama in which he broke 15 school records and finished with 3,565 career rushing yards he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
For the next eight years Alexander would be considered a featured back in the National Football League, rushing for 9,453 yards and exactly 100 touchdowns from 2000 to 2008. In 2005 he rushed for an NFL single season record 27 touchdowns, earning him NFL MVP and NFC Offensive Player of the Year honors. Alexander earned three consecutive Pro-Bowl selections from 2003 to 2005 and led the NFC in rushing in both 2004 and 2005. By the time he hung up his cleats in 2008 he was considered one of the best backs in history, earning a place on the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team.
