Sidney Crosby

Sidney Crosby is a professional center for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL. Crosby began playing hockey when he was two-years old. He would shoot pucks against the clothes dryer in his basement and at three, he learned how to skate. Crosby began to attract media attention during his minor years and at 7, he gave his first newspaper interview. The Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL selected Crosby as the first overall pick in the 2003 Midget Draft. The Pittsburgh Penguins selected Crosby as the first overall pick in the 2005 NHL Draft. In October 2005, Crosby was named Rookie of the Month. During his second season with the Penguins, Crosby became the youngest player ever to be named to the NHL’s First All-Star Team. Crosby won his first Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009 after defeating the Detroit Red Wings. He also participated in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics where he played on Team Canada. Both years, Crosby and Team Canada brought home the gold medal.
