About Stefan Edberg
Stefan Edberg is a retired professional tennis player. It was during his junior tennis career that Edberg first came to the tennis world’s attention. In 1983, Edberg won all four Grand Slam junior titles and he became the first player ever to achieve the “Junior Grand Slam” in the open era. Later that year, Edberg turned professional and won his first career doubles title. In 1984, Edberg won his first top-level singles title. Later that year, Edberg would go on to win the tennis tournament at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Edberg participated in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul where he brought home the bronze medal in both singles and doubles. In December 2013, Roger Federer announced that Edberg would be his new coach. Throughout his career, Edberg has recorded 41 career titles in singles and 18 career titles in doubles. After he announced his retirement, Edberg began playing competitive squash.
