About Stephanie Ready
Stephanie Ready is a basketball coach and currently serves as the sideline reporter for the Charlotte Hornets. During her time at Coppin State College, Ready was a standout basketball and volleyball player. After graduating from Coppin, Ron “Fang” Mitchell hired Ready to coach the women’s volleyball team. Mitchell was also the person who pushed Ready to pursue a career in coaching basketball and place graduate school on hold. Ready was hired two weeks before the start of the season and she began working with the team and helped to snap the Lady Eagles’’ 129- match losing streak. She resigned from the coaching position in 2001. Mitchell called on Ready again, but this time he wanted her to be his assistant. From 2001-03, Ready was the assistant coach for the Greenville Groove of the National Basketball Development League. Ready was a part-time sideline reporter for The NBA on TNT during the 2006 and 2007 NBA Playoffs and the WNBA Playoffs.
