About Steve Forbes
Steve Forbes is the head men's basketball coach at Wake Forest after a successful run at East Tennessee State University. During his first season, ETSU went 24-12 and finished second in the Southern Conference. Forbes led the Bucs toSoCon regular season and conference tournament championships in year two. They made the NCAA Tournament and he was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year. Forbes had an even better year in 2020, going 30-4 agan again capturing the regular and postseason SoCon titles. Prior to arriving at ETSU, Forbes was an assistant coach at Wichita State. He was previously a head coach at Northwest Florida State College. He led the program to back-to-back NJCAA D1 National Runner-Up finishes. Forbes also has experience as an assistant coach at major programs like Idaho, Louisiana Tech, Illinois State, Texas A&M and Tennessee. He began his career, spending time as an assistant and head coach at both Southwestern Community College and Barton County Community College.
