Tab Ramos

Tab Ramos is a former American soccer player who played for numerous club teams as well asthe United States national team. After immigrating to the United States from Uruguay when hewas 11, Ramos burst onto the American soccer scene by winning the 1983 Parade MagazineHigh School Player of the Year, as well as being named a two time high school All American. Thissuccess led to his signing at North Carolina State University, where Ramos was All ACC fourtimes and namedan All American three times. He first represented the United States in the1988 Summer Olympics, and signed a contract with the U.S. national team a year later. Ramosretired from the national team in 2000 after a storied career that included 3 World Cups, 81caps, and eight goals scored. This experience led Ramos to being named the coach of theUnited States U-20 national team, as well as serving as coach Jurgen Klinsmann’s assistantcoach for the United States men’s national soccer team.
