About Tara VanDerveer
Tara VanDerveer built an incredible legacy over nearly four decades at Stanford. VanDerveer coached the Cardinal's women's basketball team to three national championships and ended her career in 2024 with 1,216 victories, the most in college basketball history.
VanDerveer also coached at Idaho and Ohio State before her run at Stanford. She is a five-time National Coach of the Year.
in 1996, VanDerveer took a leave of absence from the Cardinal program to take over Team USA for the Olympics. They went 60-0 under her watch, capping that streak with an Olympic gold.
VanDerveer was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
