About Thurl Bailey
Thurl Bailey is a retired professional basketball power forward, playing 16 seasons. Prior to his long NBA career, Bailey played for the NC State Wolfpack from 1979 to 1983, leading the Wolfpack on their miracle national championship run in 1983. After graduating, Bailey was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 7th pick in the 1983 NBA draft. Bailey played for the Jazz for eight seasons and made the All-Rookie team in 1983. He was traded in 1991 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In 1994, Bailey left the NBA to play basketball overseas, first competing in Greece, then Italy. Bailey returned to the United States in 1999 to play one more season with the Utah Jazz until retiring following the 1999 season. Following his retirement, Bailey became a public speaker and a broadcast analyst for the Utah Jazz and the University of Utah. He also is an actor and a musical artist, releasing four albums and appearing in various films.
