About Thurman Thomas
Thurman Thomas is a former NFL running back, playing 12 seasons for the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins. After a legendary career at Oklahoma State in which he rushed for 4,595 yards and 43 touchdowns, earning two All-American honors in his four seasons as a Cowboy. Thomas made his NFL debut in 1988 after being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 1988 NFL draft. Thomas would go on to be the AFC rushing leader in three seasons, 1990, 1991, and 1993. Thomas’s eleven year career with the Bills would be incredible, as he was elected to the Pro Bowl five times, an AFC champion four times, named the 1991 NFL MVP, and finishing with over 11,000 yards and 65 touchdowns. Following an injury riddled 1999 season, the Bills released Thomas, and he signed with the Miami Dolphins, only to retire after a serious knee injury ended his career nine games into the 2000 season. In honor of his amazing career, Thomas was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame in 2007, and now resides in Buffalo with his wife and four children.
