About Tim Teufel
Tim Teufel had an 11-year major league career. He debuted with the Minnesota Twins in 1983, but made his greatest impact with the New York Mets. Teufel's first Mets season ended with the World Series championship in 1986. He spent the year as a platoon starter at second base. Teufel played in New York until 1991 when he was traded to the San Diego Padres. He played with the Padres until retiring after the 1993 season. Teufel returned to the Mets as a roving instructor in 2001. He has served as a manager for several of their minor league affiliates. From 2012-16, he was the big league club's third base coach. Teufel is still a minor league instructor and club ambassador for the Mets.
