About Tom Coughlin
Tom Coughlin is a retired two-time Super Bowl champion and one of the greatest coaches in New York sports history. Coughlin led the New York Giants to three NFC East titles and five postseason trips. Prior to his run with the Giants, he had a successful first NFL head coaching stop with the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars. Following an inaugural 4-12 season, Coughlin took the Jaguars to the playoffs four straight times. Twice Jacksonville lost in the AFC Championship Game. No coach has led an expansion team to greater success. Overall, Coughlin was 68-60 in eight seasons in Jacksonville. After leaving the sidelines, he returned to the Jaguars as executive vice president of the football operations and led them to the AFC Championship Game in 2018. Coughlin got his head coaching start in the early 1990s with Boston College and went 21-13-1. Coughlin’s coaching career started at his alma mater Syracuse. He gained acclaim as Bill Parcells wide receivers coach with the Giants and also coached that position for two other franchises. Off the field, his impact has been meaningful too. His Jay Fund was established in 1996 and named for a former Boston College player who died from leukemia. It assists families battling childhood cancer.
