About Tom Flores
Tom Flores is a pro football legend, having played nine seasons in the AFL with the Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Royals from 1960 to 1969 and then coaching in the NFL from 1979 to 1994. Flores is one of only two people in football history to win a championship in the AFL as a player and then win a championship in the NFL as a head coach and assistant coach. As a player he was a stellar quarterback, finishing his career in the AFL fifth all-time in passing. During his stint as the Raiders head coach from 1979 to 1987 he led his team to two Super Bowl wins and was also a part of the franchise’s front office. Since he left the sidelines he has served as a color commentator and play-by-play announcer for the Raiders on their radio network, and also coached the American team in the 2011 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
