About Ty Murray
Coming from a bull riding family, Ty Murray was on the right track for his career even before he found a mentor in world-champion bull rider Larry Mahan. Before turning professional, Murray won the National High School Rodeo Association Championship in 1987 and was named National All-Around Champion. When he turned 18 years old, he joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and became the youngest PRCA All-Around Rodeo Cowboy. Murray won the PRCA World Bull Riding Championship twice (1993, 1998) and was named World All-Around Rodeo Champion 7 times (1989-1994, 1998). He began riding in the PBR Series full-time in 2000 but after a series of injuries he retired from the sport in 2002. He has continued to make several appearances on television and frequently is chosen to announce PBR events.
