About Tyson Summers
Georgia native Tyson Summers became the head football coach at Georgia Southern University following the 2015 season. Prior to arriving back in his home state, he was the defensive coordinator at Colorado State for two years. He also spent three seasons on the staff at the University of Central Florida, including the final two as defensive coordinator. Summers spent a year on the Georgia Southern staff in 2006 and the following four seasons at UAB. His coaching career began in 2002 as defensive backs coach at Tift County High School. He spent a year at his alma mater, Presbyterian, and also had year stints at Troy and Georgia.
