About Vance Johnson
Vance Johnson had an 11-year NFL career and spent ten seasons with the Denver Broncos. Johnson played college football at the University of Arizona and was a track standout. He won the NCAA championship and Junior Pan American gold medal in long jump in 1982. Johnson just missed making the U.S. Olympic team when he finished fourth in the event at the 1984 Trials. The Broncos then selected him in the second round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He spent his first nine seasons with the franchise and helped them make three Super Bowl appearances. In Super Bowl XXI, Johnson caught five passes for 121 yards and a touchdown. He had a career year in 1989, making 76 receptions for 1,095 yards and seven touchdowns. Johnson is tied for the Denver franchise record with three 100-yard receiving games in the playoffs. He was also a dangerous return man throughout his career. Johnson spent the 1994 season with the San Diego Chargers before returning to the Broncos for one final season. He now speaks out about recovery from addiction and owns several successful businesses in Colorado.
