About Wayne Gretzky
No one has ever captivated the attention of hockey fans like “The Great One” Wayne Gretzky. When he retired after 20 years, Gretzky held 61 NHL records and is the league’s all-time points leader. He was immediately enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame upon his retirement in 1999 and his #99 jersey is the only one retired league wide. Gretzky was a nine-time Hart Trophy winner as the NHL’s most valuable player. Early in his career, he was apart of an Edmonton Oilers team that won four Stanley Cups. One of Gretzky’s most impressive feats was popularizing hockey in Los Angeles. He was dealt to LA in a shocking trade, but went on to lead the Kings to a Stanley Cup Final in 1993 and help foster the rabid hockey fans that still exist in the market to this day. Gretzky also played for the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers.
