About Wilber Marshall
The football accolades for former NFL linebacker Wilber Marshall are almost unending. In his 12 pro seasons, Marshall was a three-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro. The 1992 NFC Defensive Player of the Year won two Super Bowls. One of those Super Bowl teams Marshall starred boasted arguably the greatest defense of all-time, the 1985 Chicago Bears. His fumble recovery on Los Angeles Rams’ quarterback Dieter Brock in the NFC Championship Game is regarded to be one of the greatest moments from that magical 15-1 season. Marshall also won a Super Bowl in 1991 with the Washington Redskins. As a Florida Gator, he was even more prolific. Marshall was a three-time first-team All-SEC pick and twice a consensus All-American. His 343 tackles, 58 tackles for loss, and 23 sacks are staggering career college totals. Marshall is in the University of Florida Ring of Honor and the College Football Hall of Fame. He was born and still lives in Titusville, Florida and went to Astronaut High School. The Florida High School Athletic Association named him to their All-Century Team in 2007.
