About A.J. Preller
A.J. Preller is the executive vice president and general manager of the San Diego Padres. He was originally hired by the franchise in 2014. Preller came up through the Texas Rangers organization. He started as director of international and professional scouting in 2004 before being promoted to assistant general manager. Preller was a fraternity brother of Rangers' general manager Jon Daniels at Cornell University. He started in baseball as an intern with the Philadelphia Phillies before moving on to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Preller also spent time working for Major League Baseball.
