About David Stearns
David Stearns is the president of baseball operations for the New York Mets. He was hired as general manager by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015 and became the youngest GM in baseball. Stearns had spent the previous three seasons as the assistant general manager for the Houston Astros. In 2011, he was the co-director of baseball operations with the Cleveland Indians. While Stearns was attending Harvard University, he got his start in the sport as an intern with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went on to work in the baseball operations departments with the New York Mets and Arizona Fall League. In 2008, he joined the MLB Central Office. Stearns worked on negotiating the collective bargaining agreement and served as a manager for labor relations.
