About Alex Colome
Alex Colome rose to prominence closing games for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016. He made his first All-Star team after recording 20 saves and a 1.64 ERA at the break. Prior to serving as the closer, Colome was a member of the bullpen in Tampa Bay. He played for Tampa Bay in parts of the 2013 and 2014 season before becoming a permanent fixture in 2015. The franchise originally signed him as an international free agent in 2007. He had a unique tie to the organization upon signing. His uncle, Jesus Colome, was a reliever for the Rays from 2001-2006.
