Angelique Kerber Biography

Angelique Kerber is one of the best tennis players in the world.  She reached number one in the world for the first time in her career in September 2016.  Kerber was vaulted to the top of the rankings after a big summer where she won a silver medal in singles play at the Olympics while representing Germany.  She captured two grand slam titles in the year at the Australian and U.S. Open.  Kerber also has ten career singles titles wins on the WTA Tour.  She is the rare late bloomer in the sport, winning her first WTA title in 2012 at the age of 24.
