About Aroldis Chapman
Armed with a devastating fastball, Aroldis Chapman has piqued the curiosity of baseball fans since his defection from Cuba in 2009. Chapman landed with the Cincinnati Reds in 2010 and recorded the fastest pitch in baseball history at 105 mph.He is a seven-time All-Starand a member of the exclusive 300 saves club. In 2014, Chapman also broke Bruce Sutter’s record for consecutive appearances with a strikeout.
Following, three-straight All-Star appearances from 2012-2015, Chapman spent the 2016 season with the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs. He ended up becoming a key force for the Cubs as they broke a 108-year drought and won the World Series. Chapman ended up spending the next six seasons closing for the Yankees, winning American League Reliever of the Year honors in 2019. He signed with the Kansas City Royals in 2022.
