About Carlos Beltran
Carlos Beltran compiled one of the best careers in baseball history. He was a nine-time All-Star and impressively made the American League squad as a 39-year-old with the New York Yankees in 2016. Betran was just the fifth player to reach career totals of 400 home runs and 300 stolen bases. In 1999, his career started off with a bang and he won American League Rookie of the Year honors playing with the Kansas City Royals. During his first seven seasons, he starred with the Royals and gained a reputation as one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball. While with the New York Mets later in his career, he would win three consecutive Gold Gloves. In 2004, Beltran experienced what may be the highlight of his career. He was traded during the season to the Houston Astros and the team ended up in the playoffs He tied Barry Bonds postseason record with eight home runs while also batting .435 during that postseason. Beltran also reached a World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2013.
